I Love Leeks.

I love leeks, they're green and white and sport a little white beard

Unlike those awful artichokes - (they just look bloody weird)

They taste so nice made in a sauce or just served by themselves

I think it's an absolutely travesty if they're left there on the shelves

TV chefs they are a bore, it's onions all the time

They're slicing them and dicing them, it's such an awful crime

Now look here all you TV Cooks and all your motley crew

Get leeks inside your kitchen, like normal people do!

They're healthy, neat and trendy and make a smashing meal

(And stay away from battery farms and kitchens serving veal!)

I see that Rhubarb's back in style it really is the fashion

but it won't last like leeks have - because it doesn't have passion!

Seem to dictate what the nation eats", he said with a fearsome frown

But I know what it is for me and it's leeks and leeks and more

I'd have them for brekkie and dinner and tea and with my petit fours!

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKS!!!

Now THAT is what I call a Leek !!
